I am the art teacher at West Boulevard Elementary School in Columbia.  I'm assisting one of the second grade teachers with student entries in the poster contest your organization is sponsoring.  In the booklet I received I noticed that a grading rubric would posted on the wet site.   I could not find it.  Would you please forward one to me or explain the exact location on the site?

Thank you

Mary Lynn Agnew

We will arrange for picking up submissions during the latter part of the week of January 19.

Look or an email from Judy T.

Thank you.

Instruction & Notes

We recognize the transitional stage of 2nd-semeser 5th graders; therefore, 5th grade classes and students have the option of entering both the Poster Event and Essay Competition depending on their abilities and the lesson-planning needs of participating classroom teachers.

We recognize younger students require more guidance therefore may benefit more from a collaborative, classroom effort.  Therefore, K-5 may submit a single classroom or departmental poster project rather than individuals entries.  Each student will still receive a participation prize.

We believe students will benefit most if the entries are integrated into the classroom curriculum; however, students may submit their work as individuals without school or teacher sponsorship.  Therefore, students may also submit an individual entry even if the opportunity to participate is provided as part of a required or optional class assignment.  The individual entry and the class entry may not be the same poster or essay.

ABGPS and MUAA reserve the right to publish winning or displayed entries and if they choose to do so, no personally identifying information such as the student’s name will be divulged.
